TCF (Test du connaissance du FranÇais)
- What is the TCF?
The TCF (Test du connaissance du Français) is a test assessing your language level in General French.
The TCF confirms the level you’ve reached at the time you take the exam, this is why the certificate is only valid for two years The Test de Connaissance du Français is an exam organised by the Centre International d'Etudes Pédagogiques (CIEP), an official organisation recognised by the French Ministry of National Education. It assesses students at 6 levels determined by the Council of Europe. Passing the TCF enables foreign students to get access to French universities.
ACCORD Language School is an official exam centre for the TCF. - Who can take the TCF?
All non French-speakers wishing, for personal or professional reasons, to officially assess their skills in French.
No specific qualification or training are required to take the TCF. - What does the exam involve?
3 compulsory tests: a total of 80 items (1.45hours)
- Reading comprehension: 30 items (45 minutes)
- Use of grammatical structures: 20 items (20 minutes)
- Listening comprehension: 30 items (40 minutes)
2 optional tests (2 hours)
- Written expression (1.45hours)
- Oral expression (15 minutes)
