Exam Preparation Course ABITUR

Who is this course for?

This course is aimed primarily to students preparing their Abitur / French and who wish to optimise their preparation to these exams by participating in a full immersion language programme in France. A minimum A2 level is required to participate to this ABITUR preparation.

Morning classes – 20 hours per week

The morning lessons in multinational classes enable students to focus on the four core skills: listening, reading, speaking and writing. This develops student’s confidence to apply the methods and techniques necessary under exam conditions. During these sessions, the teacher will focus on oral communication, grammar, vocabulary as well as cultural topics depending on students’ needs and requirements.

 

Afternoon classes – 6hours/9 hours per week

On Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, students will join classes in mini-groups (maximum 6 students per class) during which they will specifically prepare for the Abitur/French exam. Students will study past exam papers, practise in exam conditions under guidance from a teacher. Teachers will provide constructive advice about exam preparation techniques including stress management.

Course material:

  • Development of oral competences: discussions, role play, authentic documents taken from the radio or the television, past exam papers
  • Development of written competences: authentic documents taken from the press, internet websites, literature work, past exam papers
  • Development of grammar and lexis structures in context and based on authentic documents
  • Development of intercultural competence: immersion in a French host family
  • Development of methodology competences, time and stress management in an exam context

Teachers:

Teachers in charge of this preparation have all a diploma of French as a Foreign Language certified by the French Ministry of Education and are fully qualified to teach students the Prepa Abitur program.

Course organisation:

Courses are indicated in “hours” (60 minutes/hours) and “lessons” (45 minutes/lesson)

Option 1: 26 hours / 34 lessons per week

  • Morning sessions (maximum 14 students per class): Monday to Friday, 9am to 1pm – 20 hours/26 lessons per week
  • Afternoon sessions in mini-groups (maximum 6 students per class): Tuesday and Thursday from 2.15 to 5.15pm – 6 hours/8 lessons per week

Option 2: 29 hours / 38 lessons per week

  • Morning sessions (maximum 14 students per class): Monday to Friday, 9am to 1pm – 20 hours/26 lessons per week
  • Afternoon sessions in mini-groups (maximum 6 students per class): Tuesday and Thursday from 2.15 to 5.15pm – 6 hours/8 lessons per week
  • 1 workshop (oral or culture) to be chosen by the student: from 2.15 to 5.15pm on Monday, Wednesday or Friday – 3 hours / 4 lessons per week

 

Option 3: 29 hours / 38 lessons per week

  • Morning sessions (maximum 14 students per class): Monday to Friday, 9am to 1pm – 20 hours/26 lessons per week
  • Afternoon sessions in mini-groups (maximum 6 students per class): Tuesday and Thursday from 2.15 to 5.15pm – 6 hours/8 lessons per week
  • One-to-One lessons – 3 hours / 4 lessons per week

  • July 10th, July 17th, July 24th, July 31st, August 7th, August 14th, August 21st 2017
